Meet the Owner and Baker
Hi, my name is Denise! I’m the owner and self taught baker for Sweet & Cozy Bakery! My passion for baking began when I was in elementary school. My grandmother would make the best cakes, pies, sweet rolls and cookies. The amazing sweet smells from her kitchen had the ability to gather family and friends on a daily basis, but especially during the holidays.
Even with that passion, I decided to take a different career path to pursue healthcare instead of culinary arts. I got my culinary fix through hosting gatherings in my home because I enjoyed cooking and baking for others. In the middle of a pandemic, I hosted an outdoor only Friendsgiving gathering. During that evening, everyone complimented the meal to include the best part… desserts. Many shared they were surprised that I wasn’t currently working in a culinary realm. It was in that moment of camaraderie that this self taught passion was reborn. With uncertainty of my healthcare path, I decided to trust God and take a chance on faith.
